Why Fall Is a Good Time to Plan a New Floor in Omaha
October in Omaha is when most households turn back toward the inside of the house. The weather cools, schedules settle down after summer, and the holidays are close enough that people start looking at the rooms they will be hosting in. If a floor has been bothering you all year, fall is a practical moment to deal with it, before the calendar fills up with guests and family time.
What Is Involved in a Flooring Installation
A new floor is more than the planks you see at the end. Every job we do follows the same order, so there are no surprises about what happens on which day.
The old floor comes up
We start by removing the existing flooring so the new floor is not built on top of something worn out.
We check the subfloor
Before anything new goes down, we look at what is underneath. The subfloor is what the new floor depends on, so it gets checked first.
The new floor goes in
Plank flooring is installed room by room, in kitchens, hallways and living areas. Stairs are finished to match the rooms they connect, with trim and transitions handled as part of the same job. You can see how this looks on our flooring installation page, including a before and after of the same kitchen.
Getting the Timing Right Before the Holidays
If you would like a finished floor before guests arrive, the best step is to call early. Tell us which room it is, what floor you have now and roughly when you would like the work done. That gives us what we need to talk through a quote and a schedule with you. Waiting until the last few weeks of the year leaves less room to plan.
Questions to Think About Before You Call
- Which rooms do you want done, and do you want stairs included so everything matches?
- What is the floor like now, and does it need to come out?
- When would you like the work finished?
You do not need exact answers. A rough idea of the space is enough for us to start the conversation.
