Plan a New Floor This Winter in Omaha

As the weather turns cold and your household spends more time indoors, it is a natural moment to look hard at the floors under your feet. Here is how to plan a flooring installation with our team and get your home ready for it.

Why Late Fall Is a Good Time to Plan Your Floor

By the end of October, most Omaha households have settled back into indoor routines. The yard work is done, the cold weather keeps everyone home more, and the rooms you use every day start to show their wear. A scuffed kitchen floor or a tired hallway is easy to ignore in summer. When the whole family is inside, it is much harder to look past.

Planning now, rather than in the middle of the holiday rush, gives you room to make decisions at a relaxed pace. You can talk through the job with us, think about which rooms matter most and pick a window that suits your household.

What Luxury Vinyl Plank Looks Like in a Lived-In Home

Most of the floors we install are LVP, or luxury vinyl plank. It goes into the rooms people use hardest: kitchens, hallways, bathrooms and living areas. Planks go down row by row with staggered seams, so the finished floor reads as one continuous surface instead of a patchwork. You can see the kind of work we do on our flooring installation page.

Getting Your Home Ready for Installation Day

A little preparation on your side helps the work go smoothly. None of this needs to be perfect, and we will talk through the details with you when we plan the job.

Decide on the rooms

Walk through the house and list the rooms you want done. It often makes sense to think about connected spaces together, such as a kitchen and the hallway beside it, so the floor flows from one area to the next.

Think about furniture and belongings

Floors cannot be installed under heavy furniture, so it helps to know ahead of time what needs to move and where it can go for a few days. Ask us about this when we talk, so you know what to expect.

Plan around the household

If you are hosting family or guests, tell us the dates that matter to you. Knowing your calendar lets us talk honestly about scheduling.

What We Do From Start to Finish

Every job follows the same order, so there are no surprises about what happens next.

  • We tear out the old floor.
  • We prep the subfloor and check what is underneath before anything new goes down.
  • We install the new planks, with stair nosing, trim and transitions handled as part of the same job.
  • We walk through the finished floor with you before we call the job done.

Don't Forget the Stairs

If your home has a staircase, it is worth deciding early whether to include it. We cap treads and risers in matching LVP with bullnose stair nosing, so the stairs tie straight into the floors around them. Doing stairs and rooms in the same project means everything matches, and you only go through the process once.

Questions to Ask Before You Book

  • Which rooms do you want done, and do you want stairs included?
  • What floor do you have now, and does it need to come out?
  • Roughly when would you like the work finished?

A rough idea is enough. We would rather start the conversation early than have you wait for the perfect answers.

Serving Omaha and the Metro

We install floors in Omaha, Elkhorn, Millard, Council Bluffs, Lincoln, Fremont, Valley and Bellevue. Take a look at our Omaha flooring page or our Millard flooring page to see how we work in your part of the metro. You can also read about what a flooring installation includes before you call.
