Why a Few Details Make the Quote Better
Flooring jobs look similar from the outside and turn out very differently once you start counting rooms, stairs and the condition of what is underneath. The more we know when we first talk, the easier it is to give you a quote that fits your home. A flooring installation with us can include tearing out the old floor, prepping the subfloor, installing new planks and finishing with stair nosing, trim and transitions, so it helps to know which of those apply to your project.
What to Tell Us
The room or rooms
We install flooring in kitchens, hallways, bathrooms and on stairs. Tell us which of these you have in mind. If you would like several rooms to share one continuous floor, say so, since a run of matching plank through a kitchen and hallway is a popular way to make a home feel connected.
The floor you have now
Describe what is on the floor today and how it looks and feels. This tells us what the tear out will involve before any new plank goes down. Photos are a handy way to describe it when you send us a message.
Whether stairs are included
Stairs are finished to match the rooms they connect, with matching stair nosing, so it is worth mentioning early if a staircase is part of your plan. Our flooring installation page shows examples of stair work alongside kitchen and hallway floors.
Your timing
Let us know roughly when you would like the work finished. A target month is plenty. If your timing is flexible, tell us that too.
